Welcome to Basic LED Technology. By the end of this course, you will have completed the following four learning objectives:

1) Understand the evolution of LEDs over the past 50 years. Not only has their shape changed, but also the semiconductors that are used to generate light, as well as phosphor technology and efficacy.

2) Understand the fundamental terminology that is associated with LEDs such as diode, lumens, Kelvin Temperature and CRI.

3) Learn about the three basic types of LEDs that are used for lighting which includes the T-Type, Surface Mount and High Wattage Chip on Board

4) Learn about the science behind LEDs and how they are produced.
