NBI | Deep Energy Retrofits - Part 1 (APS-AIA-EiQ-208)

Description
[AIA LU/HSW =1.0] This course was created by the New Buildings Institute in collaboration with National Grid, a utility that services a large portion of the Northeast U.S.

Course Description:
A Deep Energy Retrofit is a retrofit project that achieves at least 30% energy savings in a building. Success with this kind of project requires more than 'widget-based' retrofits with a focus on one-item upgrades to buildings. This first of a three-part series will focus on Vision, Goals and Process in Deep Energy Retrofits. The webinar will address how the design approach to these projects must differ from high performance new construction projects, how to identify good candidates for deep energy retrofits and the tool and resources available.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the meaning of Deep Energy Retrofit.
2. Understand how to identify opportunities for deep energy retrofits within a particular project and in groups of buildings.
3. Understand the steps required to assess building conditions in order to support a Deep Energy Retrofit.
4. Understand how to asses different Deep Energy Retrofit Strategies for a project.
